A lazy sunday in Florence, the car's been washed , the laundry is drying in the sun, the newspaper kiosk is closed for the day and it's time for a coffee sitting outside the cafe on the street, watching the world go by.
Capturing the light of a perfect day on the coast, the late evening sun warming the freshly laid table, chilled glasses of wine, cold beer and fresh salads await the master chef and his grilled meats.
"Early mornings on the beach , when your feet are the first to make prints in the sand, the tide laps around your feet as you breathe in the fresh, salty air. The first rays of warm sunshine bathe you as they light up the hills, it's going to be a good day!"

Well after what seems to be an endless barrage of wet and gloomy weather, we have had summer return to our shores today, and boy, it felt good!
I had a commission to do for a customer, so I opened the door and windows in the studio and soaked up that summer vibe.

I really enjoyed tackling a different subject matter, sometimes it makes you take stock of what you think you know, and it really helps tighten up your observation skills.
There's something really enjoyable about working up a larger canvas from a smaller study. Getting bigger brushes moving with more open body posturing has to be fun. It certainly feels good. Then to see lots of paint on a good size surface always pleases me.
