"Rush Hour" - Florence , Italy in watercolours

12 x 9 inches Watercolour on rough paper- Framed and available from my Fine Art website here.

"At certain times of the day, you had to be completely on your guard as you wandered the medieval streets, for within seconds you could find yourself at the mercy of a group of speeding cyclists all on their respective journeys. Sometimes with a friendly shout, other times a tinkle of the traditional handlebar bell or if unlucky, the scowl of a stressed two wheeler who has had far too many near misses that morning. Still it's lovely to see that the centre of such a busy city has been pedestrianised and free for bicycles and pedestrians to dance their daily sidestep together without the four wheeled enemy to worry about.
Have a great day!"

"Hot Afternoon" - Deckchair painting

There's something about deckchairs set up in a row next to each other on sunny beach, with the sea sparkling . Is it the invitation to sit yourself down and drift off into a hazy daydream, or the memories of family trips with fish and chips ,and the seagull cry overhead in the blue sky?

"This past week there has been an abundance of fantastic skies and clear light, this cloud formation above Morte Point really took my eye, the ocean was particularly glassy that day, and to top it all off, a sailing boat slid gracefully around the point. just wonderful! "

Warm November-Plein air painting on the beach.

14 x 10 inches oil on canvas board £200

" Just the most stunning day. I couldn't believe that the warm sunshine and crisp , clear light heralded the first day of November. It felt more like the start of Spring.
I picked my plein air kit up , loaded the dog and some supplies into the car, and headed out to the beach.
Which was remarkably empty and calm for such a beautiful day!"
