Secluded Cove

6 x6 inches oil on panel

Painted this from the lawns of The Watersmeet Hotel in Woolacombe, Devon.  Monday afternoon and this young couple had the little beach and warm sunshine to themselves. The joys of early Summer.
You can book a one or two day painting course with me whilst staying at the Watersmeet Hotel. It has some of the best views in the country, nestled above this cove, with the Atlantic Ocean stretching out below it. Couple that with fine dining and luxurious comfort and you're well on the way to feeling refreshed.

Sea Mist

Despite the sea mist creeping in and out , I had a cracking day with Jack and Susan, they had booked a two day painting course. It turned out to be a good study in tonal values with the mist helping to emphasize atmospheric perspective.

The Well House

How do you fancy painting this fantastic scene?
My wife just treated me to a fantastic weekend at "The Well House". Fine dining and a super relaxing environment down on the South Cornish coast. A lovely old country house hotel that I can't recommend enough.

Richard and his staff were so friendly and accommodating, we instantly felt relaxed and at ease.
The seven course meal on the first night was to die for! Easily the best meal my wife and I have ever had!!
The views of the surrounding Cornish landscape , were absolutely beautiful. The cosy harbour villages of Looe, Polperro and Fowey are all close by. All full of gorgeous scenery waiting to be painted.
Check out The Well House here.
Do you fancy a painting break in the Cornish countryside , with the stunning coast on your doorstep?
Richard and I are planning a few oil painting workshops in his fantastic hotel for 2010.

Just Peelin'

A lot of wind but some beautiful peelers.
I spent the day with a painting workshop, teaching a lovely lady called Lisa . We spent a fantastic day over in Lee Bay sheltered from the breeze, great autumnal light and some crazy skies with dramatic cloud shapes.

October Skies oil on canvas board 14 x 10 , this painting will be on display as part of my
exhibition High Tides & Rolling Hills at the Queen's Theatre Gallery from Nov 9th -Dec 11th 2009
